The Mt. Horeb Missionary Baptist Church-DeSoto was founded on May 10, 2020 d/b/a/ Mt. Horeb-DeSoto. Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the Reverend Dr. Stephen C. Nash, Sr. and Reverend Stephen C. Nash, Jr. visualized the need for a place of worship of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in a young but growing community in DeSoto, TX. In their effort to make this vision a reality, they began discussing God’s vision of a church in the community. After some favorable responses from others, 12 people met physically with both Pastors at their home in DeSoto, Texas for a physical and virtual worship. At that time, 32 members joined the church via physical and virtual attendance; thus Mt. Horeb Baptist Church-DeSoto was organized on May 10, 2020.

In June of 2020, the Lord saw fit to move Dr. Marion Southall to offer a corporate partnership with both International Harvest Fellowship Ministries and Mt. Horeb-DeSoto. Dr. Southall and the International Harvest Fellowship Ministries family opened their doors for Mt. Horeb-DeSoto to share their facility. In that month, Mt. Horeb-DeSoto moved worship services from the Nash’s home to 101 Little John Dr. DeSoto, Texas 75115. Both Churches co-existed in the DeSoto location collaborating and creating ministries.
On May 9, 2022, Lord answered much prayer and blessed Mt. Horeb Missionary Baptist Church, DeSoto with a new place of worship located at 1520 W. Belt Line Road Lancaster, Texas. To maintain our DeSoto relationships and create new ventures at our new location Pastor and Horeb Council voted to change the name to Mt. Horeb-Belt Line Baptist Church.
We thank God for the Reverend Stephen “Chuck” Nash, Jr., and Dr. Stephen C. Nash, Sr., our founders, as we continue to strive toward the vision that He has for us. The Mt. Horeb- Belt Line Family is thankful and excited to see how God is moving in our lives and is blessing us to do ministry above and beyond the church walls. We are moving from religion to righteousness by being a Christ-centered, captive-freeing, and community-driven congregation!
